Seals

Hello there! Today I am sharing with you a couple of samples I did for a recent commission. The client asked for a design that will be eventually used for a rubber seal. Having that in mind, the artwork had to be line only and the forms should be clear to avoid smudging with ink.

He asked for an ancient Greek coin feel and the subject was semi-free. It had to be something depicting a statue of athletes and wrestling and the spirit of sportsmanship.

I used an amazing statue of Frederic Leighton as a reference and came up with a couple of suggestions.

Update and news!

Hey you guys! First post of the year!

Things are slow on the blog but not work-wise!

After the Christmas holidays, the art ship is once again running at ramming speed!
In details, I am working in my daily job and commissions plus the comic side project.

-About the comic, the first issue is complete and now I'm taking care of the second one.

When the second one is complete as well, they will be published together in a one/double sized issue.

As for today, I am giving you a piece I finished lately. Hope you guys like it and check back on this blog soon for more updates and art.!

     Today I'm sharing yet another panel from the graphic novel I'm working on. Hope you guys find it cool. To be honest I'm currently still in the process of defining the art of the book, that's why some earlier panels were approached in a somewhat different artistic style. It's a time-consuming and sometimes furstating procedure but this is what this project is. An ongoing training and experimenting in the various styles and approaches in storytelling and artistic applications. It is a personal project so that means no deadlines and no strict guidelines as opposed to my solicited commissions in which I have to comply withing the customer's requests.
